Things to Do: Visit Simply Natural Creamery

Visit Simply Natural Creamery

See some beautiful Jersey girls up close and personal when you visit Simply Natural Creamery in Ayden this spring! Weekday and weekend tours have started once again and will continue through November.

About Simply Natural Creamery

To clarify, we do mean a bevy of brown-eyed beauties, otherwise known as Jersey cows, who happen to provide nutrient-dense milk that is both richer and creamier. Why is that?

It’s because Jersey milk has 20 percent more natural butterfat. It also has more protein, calcium, phosphorous and vitamin B12 than a regular glass of milk.

When you visit Simply Natural Creamery, you’ll see firsthand why their cows are happy cows. They live in a natural environment where they are free to roam, graze and lounge. Their feed is all-natural and grown right on the farm.

What’s more, all of Simply Natural’s products are processed on the farm, too. Products include milk, ice cream and butter.

As far as the ice cream goes, flavors range from butter pecan to coffee toffee to cow pattie (which is chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips and Reese’s Cup pieces) to toasted “cowconut.”

Book a tour

Weekday tours are back! Schools, clubs, groups and others can request a tour Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Each tour lasts about an hour and a half. Tours include seeing the milking parlor and the lounging barn. Visitors will also spend time petting the calves, sampling ice cream, playing on the playground, enjoying a wagon ride and more.

Guests are also invited to tour the farm on Saturday and Sunday too. During weekend visits, wagon rides are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The rides run every hour on the hour on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m.

However, it’s a good idea to call the farm ahead of time at (252) 746-3334 to make sure the wagon rides are a go.

One new addition to Simply Natural Creamery this year is Sally’s Dairyland. There will be a basketball and a football toss. There will be see-saws, tire swings, a jump pad and more. Stay tuned to the Facebook or Instagram page for more Sally’s Dairyland announcements.

But Sally’s Dairyland isn’t the only new thing at the farm. Now, guests can pick from 32 flavors that are available in the brand-new dipping cabinet! Spring and summer flavors are making their debut now.
